On Monday night, the team announced the decision to reduce certain employee’s salaries by up to 20% in response to the financial hardships the team is about to endure caused by coronavirus.
That decision then caused superstar Joel Embiid to step up and donate $500,000 to not only coronavirus relief efforts, but to help out those employees whose salary would be reduced. The Athletic’s Shams Charania reports:
76ers part-owner Michael Rubin is upset and outraged over the team deciding to reduse certain employee’s payment by up to 20% temporarily.
