Simmons’ injury arose in Thursday’s loss to the Brooklyn Nets, and he was a late scratch from Saturday’s game with the Denver Nuggets. Coach Doc Rivers initially called it “Knee stiffness,” but it appeared on the injury report on Monday as “Knee swelling,” which caused some confusion.
“We thought it may be one game. It’s already been two,” Rivers added. “We’re hoping he’ll play tomorrow night, but I can’t guarantee any of that.”
As for Seth Curry, he tested positive for COVID-19 during the Nets game and that set off a chain reaction of contact tracing.
