3 observations: Joel Embiid, Sixers get defensive, beat Kings on the road

USA Today

on

Article Summary:

The Kings gave the Sixers all they could handle, but Philadelphia rode a big defensive effort in the fourth to win it 119-111.

Joel Embiid led Philadelphia with 25 points, 17 rebounds, and a season-high six assists, Seth Curry added 22 points, Tobias Harris was big in the fourth quarter and added 22 points and 10 rebounds, and Ben Simmons had 14 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds. Sacramento knocked down 11 of their 20 attempts from deep in the first half and they got a lot of those looks in transition as the quickness of De’Aaron Fox really gave Philadelphia some problems. Philadelphia made an adjustment in the second half and Sacramento could not find an open look at all.

Aggressive Simmons early

Everybody knows how much Simmons impacts the Sixers without looking for his own offense, but it’s nice when he does decide to get aggressive every so often.
