Doc Rivers reacts to Paul Reed winning G League Player of the Week

USA Today

Article Summary:

Paul Reed, the 58th pick in the 2020 NBA draft, is currently with the Delaware Blue Coats, the team’s G League affiliate. He is off to a great start down in the G League bubble in Orlando and he recently was just named G League Player of the Week following an impressive week of performances.

Sixers coach Doc Rivers has been keeping in contact with Blue Coats coach Connor Johnson and he has been happy with the conversations the two of them have had about Reed.

“He’s a great kid and everybody’s happy for him,” said Rivers. “He’s a quirky player. Talking to Connor, he can’t tell you how he’s scoring, he just scores. He’s one of those guys that has a nose for the ball, plays extremely hard, and he’s also one of the what we call sunshine kids that just walks in the room and everybody’s happy.”

Reed did play five games with the Sixers so he was able to play under Rivers at the beginning of the month of January when the team was dealing with the team going through COVID protocols.
