This morning, The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor published a story about the teams vying for the top spot in the Eastern Conference. Wojespn on NBA Countdown: “Daryl Morey has been active, he’s always looking for a big blockbuster deal…that may not be available for this trade deadline. Two areas the Sixers would like to improve: getting a 4/5 man who can shoot the ball, along with two-way players.”

What seems clear is that Sixers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey is certainly not content with the team’s current roster and standing in the conference. The Sixers are in first place in the East, yes, but the team is only 5-5 over its past 10 games and now holds just a half-game lead over the scorching hot Brooklyn Nets.
Morey seems eager to improve the Sixers’ championship odds in a meaningful way by adding a big piece to the team.
