Veteran Danny Green proud of the progression, growth from Sixers

USA Today

Article Summary:

The Philadelphia 76ers are trying to work out the kinks they have run into being such a new team and playing under the extreme circumstances the pandemic has offered.

Danny Green is one of the elder statesmen on the team, and even he is making a lot of adjustments being on a new team for the third straight season while dealing with the challenges of the pandemic. They have remained as the 1 seed in the East, and they are serious contenders to win a title when the playoffs roll around in May.

“We fought, even with COVID issues, even with schedule issues, even with traveling issues, all types of injuries, guys come to play every day,” Green added. “We have a lot of potential, we know we have the pieces. We know we have what it takes to get it done. It’s more us handling our own business, maturing mentally, as a group, and getting over that hump of playing the same way every night for 48 minutes. That’s always a challenge for every group, but for us, we know we have the talent to do it, we have the depth, we have the pieces. We just got to do it every night.”

The Sixers will play host to the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday at home.
