ESPN impressed by Sixers rookie Paul Reed’s G League performance

USA Today

Article Summary:

Reed has been performing very well since the beginning of the G League season, and he is catching the eye of just about everybody on the basketball circuit.

ESPN threw a lot of praise his way in its latest G League review:

The big revelation has come with Reed’s jump shot – he’s been able to knock down 44% of his 3-pointers despite struggling from distance in college and sporting unorthodox shooting mechanics.

Being able to step into wide open 3-pointers with time and space as slower-footed defenders retreat has helped Reed find an excellent rhythm in pick-and-pop situations.

The Sixers will still have a few veterans ahead of him in the 2021-22 season, but with his strong play in Orlando, Reed should earn a roster spot either with the Sixers or with another team for next season.
