Sixers coach Doc Rivers explains the emergence of Tony Bradley in the rotation

USA Today

Article Summary:

“We had a heart to heart at the beginning of the year and got to get in better shape. He did that. A lot of guys don’t do it, you can tell him that. It’s hard work once you start camp and then shed pounds and get in better shape, and he’s done that.”

Bradley did confirm after their March 11 win over the Chicago Bulls that he did lose 25 pounds. “He understands. We call him the pick machine, like he’s got to keep finding guys to pick, and every time he does, he rolls, and we’ll find you, and he’s doing that.”

Another thing going in Bradley’s favor is that he is just 23-years old and he is only in his fourth season in the league.

“The other thing we forget is he’s 23,” Rivers laughed. “I think we forget that when and I think people think he’s like 29 or 30 years old, he’s not. He’s a young kid and he’s still learning the game as well.”

The Sixers will take on the New York Knicks on Tuesday night at home.
