One of the main pieces off the bench is Furkan Korkmaz, who has been the definition of up and down all season. “We’re still trying to get him to pull the ball more on pick-and-rolls. I think he could be a factor there with his size. He did it the first play in the overtime: He’s wide open; he just missed the shot.”
What Rivers is saying is, he would rather Korkmaz pull the trigger on a jumper in the pick-and-roll when the defense sags off him. “He gives me that confidence, especially in overtime. We were trying to some pick-and-rolls, but sometimes you make it, sometimes you miss it, but the thing is Doc has given me that confidence. He wants me to shoot it.”
When Korkmaz is off, there are other things he can do on the basketball court.
“There’s things that he can still do, but he’s been playing great,” Rivers added.
