Cavaliers ‘potential wildcard’ to be involved in a Ben Simmons trade

USA Today

Article Summary:

Now that Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons has made it known he wants to be traded out of the City of Brotherly Love, the question becomes where Simmons ends up?

The most persistant teams involved for Simmons have been the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Toronto Raptors.

In a roundtable discussion at The Athletic, Derek Bodner brought up one team Sixers president Daryl Morey could get involved: the Cleveland Cavaliers:

I think Cleveland is potentially a wildcard. I think what’s perhaps more interesting than what new teams could enter into the bidding war for Simmons is what teams Morey will be able to rope in to make it a three- team deal. There are some solid young pieces on Cleveland’s roster, but not enough to pry away a young star like Simmons.
