Philadelphia signed Niang to a two-year deal in the early part of free agency and the Sixers are counting on him to become a stretch 4 for the team off the bench in the role Mike Scott used to fill.
For Niang, here are three goals for the upcoming season:
Provide long range shooting
The Sixers are always looking for shooting to surround Joel Embiid on the floor, and Niang fills that need.
Give the team more versatility
Standing at 6-foot-7, Niang has the ability to play a couple of positions.
If Niang can shoot somewhere around 42% from deep, as he shot with the Jazz, and bring an edge in defense and rebounding, that will be useful going forward.
