Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey had himself another big game scoring 33 points with five assists in Thursday’s loss to the Toronto Raptors.
However, Toronto is a veteran team with proven players and they bested the shorthanded Sixers in this one. Fred VanVleet, in particular, had a big game scoring 32 points and seven assists while knocking down six triples. “He knows when to go fast, he knows when to go slow, he knows how to change his pace, he knows how to draw fouls. He’s a very smart player, a very heady player. I remember, I don’t know what grade I was in, watching him at Wichita State and I was telling my friends, I think he’s gonna be really good when he gets to the NBA, he’s pretty good.”
Considering that Maxey watched VanVleet over in college, this was a good opportunity for the second-year guard.
