Philadelphia could have had a chance in this game without Curry and if Embiid played, but once the big fella was ruled out, there was not much the Sixers could do. “Then, Seth was about 20 minutes before game time before we went out. Obviously, we didn’t prepare for that, but still no excuses. We didn’t play well, they played great. They did what they do. They were by far the tougher team.”
The Sixers only shot 44.6% from the floor and they were 4-for-22 from deep. “On the defensive end, we allowed them to gain a lot of momentum and steam. They got downhill at-will, made the extra plays which had us scrambling, it was tough.”
It just looked like the Sixers did not have it out there and the losses of Embiid and Curry really affected them from the jump.
“They are a big part of our team, but we pride ourselves on being there to play whoever steps out on the floor, to go out there compete and play hard,” said Tyrese Maxey.
