New Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden has worn No. 13 since he entered the league in 2009 with the Oklahoma City Thunder, including his time with the Houston Rockets and the Brooklyn Nets.
However, the No. 13 is retired in Philadelphia for the greatness that is Wilt Chamberlain.
In this case, Harden will wear No. 1 as he begins a new chapter in his career playing with Joel Embiid. The No. 1 jersey was worn this season by Andre Drummond who was sent to the Nets in the trade earlier on Thursday. No. 13 is Wilt Chamberlain’s retired number.
